How We Got Started

Bright Memories was founded by owner, Travis Silver, as he pondered the perfect gift for his first nephew.  Travis wanted to give his nephew a unique, handmade gift he would cherish but also that would be able to change or be updated as his nephew grew and his interests grew and changed with him.  Growing up Travis as well as many of his family members; brothers, cousins, uncles, grandparents and even a great grandparent, all played various sports at a collegiate, semi-professional, or professional level.  A gift that displayed that athletic legacy and Travis' own fond memories seemed the perfect thing.  Hence, Bright Memories was born.

The gift to his nephew was a hand made wooden shadow box consisting of a baseball, football and basketball player.  In which, any or all of the figures could be removed or replaced as he grew.  Using LED lights and a photo electric switch the silhouette of each figure would come to life every night and be used as a nightlight in his nephews room.  To add a little more style and depth, a different number was cut out on each figure to make the jersey number seem to light up as well.     

After creating this gift, and seeing how much his nephew and other family and friends loved it, he decided to start crafting other items like the shadow box.  Products to help display items people may already have that give fond memories, such a child's first homerun ball or an award received for an exceptional achievement.  Also, to help commemorate new events in a persons life, like a first Christmas, milestone birthday, or any other cherished event and make it all that much more memorable.  

"With twelve years experience in the Special Events industry and sixteen in Construction and Woodworking, making unique and eye catching products to showcase life's treasures is something we at Bright Memories want to help you do.   Since that first shadowbox for my nephew I have added Display Stages and laser engraved acrylic Nightlights and Christmas ornaments.   Laser engraved glassware, wooden plaques, trophies and awards and other products for all types of special occasions are soon to come.  I want to try and offer a wide variety of almost anything able to be engraved or personalized."
